Guest editing the JOEUC special issue…
September 30, 2006 on 11:29 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments
The deadline for submissions for Journal of Organizational and End User Computing‘ special issue which I am co-guest editing with Yukika Awazu and Vincent Ribiere has passed. We have received plenty of high quality papers on the announced topic of ”Interacting with Knowledge Management Systems” from scholars around the world, confirming a strong need for research in this highly interdisciplinary and practically relevant area. First round of double-blind reviews is currently under way, and as it seems from the first inputs from distinguished reviewers, our task of deciding which of the papers to accept for final publication in early 2007, will be more difficult than we initially thought.
Why KM projects get abandoned and why shouldn’t they?

There is my new article titled Menedžment znanja - zakaj toliko propadlih poskusov? published on e-revir portal. The article is in Slovene and it deals - on very practical level - with KM implementation issues. After explaining the reasons why KM practices are seen as crucial antecedents for thriving innovation, the article discusses how to avoid pitfalls and successfully adopt this process innovation that would – in turn - foster the future innovation.
e-revir is a webzine with “useful content” as they say for themselves, providing their visitors with quality articles on business, education, sports, lifestyle, and home and society issues.
Visiting UK - EuroMOT 2006
September 12, 2006 on 3:50 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments
I have been attending European Management of Technology 2006 (EuroMOT 2006) conference, happening on September 10-12 at Aston Business School, Birmingham, UK. It was one of better conferences on Innovation - many interesting papers and attendees. Great vitamins for the brain and excellent networking opportunity, must say. I have presented a paper on how IT can support and enable the early steps of new product innovation process. The paper was co-authored by Christoph Wecht from BGW Management Advisory Group (Vienna) and University of St Gallen (Switzerland).
The conference was a bit short, though. Anyway, am not leaving The Island immediately, as I am having couple of meetings in Manchester at IRIS-Salford University and Manchester Metropolitan University. Back home for the weekend…
