IFIP 8.6 2007 meeting - triple thrill
March 30, 2007 on 6:21 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments
I am excitingly expecting the IFIP 8.6 2007 meeting that I am attending in Manchester, UK, June 12-16. Actually, the excitement is threefold.
First, the paper that I have co-authored with Dr Maria E Burke of Salford University (6* RAE IRIS), titled Attaining organisational innovation - better smart than fast, has been accepted for the conference. It will be a high quality conference and highly relevant conference. IFIP 8.6, a working group of International Federation for Information Processing, is namely concerned with diffusion, adoption and implementation of information and communication technologies.
Second, my research proposal under guidance of Prof Dr Kevin C Desouza, has been invited to the doctoral consortium. The consortium is limited to 20 students who will be mentored by Prof Bob Galliers (London School of Economics UK, Bentley College USA) and Prof Sue Newell (Bentley College, USA), Prof Karlheinz Kautz (Copenhagen Business School) and Dr Chris Sauer (Said Business School, Oxford University). More than excellent opportunity to discuss my research ideas with some of the top figures of current IS-research field, and network with 19 of today’s and, even more importantly, future colleagues.
Third, the conference is organized by Informatics Research Institute (IRIS) of Salford University, a leading UK IS-research institution, where I have (on-and-off) spent a year and a half of my post graduate studies, and where I have been working towards my MPhil degree. So a great chance to meet all the people I know there and have a brainstorming session on future research opportunities. Can it get any better than this???

Call for papers - 41st HICSS
March 12, 2007 on 4:17 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments
I am privileged to invite submissions for the 41st HICSS 2008 conference, where I am acting as the co-chair of the “KM Implementation and Other Issues” track (along with Prof Dr David Croasdell).
Since 1968 HICSS has become a respected forum for substantive exchange of ideas in all areas of IS and IT. It is a conference with rigor, rated in the rank of ECIS, IFIP and CHI: a conference with carefully structured format, and extensive double-blind review process performed by distinguished scholars in each of the areas. Did I mention unique environment?

I have recently had three articles in Slovene publications. The first one, titled Prva zapoved IT - poslovna znanja pred tehni?nimi! was placed on e-revir portal. The two others were placed in Finance daily journal.
The articles are in Slovene and they discuss the Gartner’s CIO 2007 research findings and compare their findings to the sitatuation in Slovenia.
