Insite 2007 conference, organized by the Informing Science Institute, was hosted this year by my school, the Faculty of Economics University of Ljubljana.
As a member of the organization committee (together with Peter Trkman and Ales Popovic), I am proud that this year’s conference was clearly a success, in terms of
quality of the papers presented, in terms of organization of the whole thing, and in terms of participants’ satisfaction over the geographic location. All in all, over 150 people from 50+ world countries attended, it was truly an international event. Met some dear friends again. :)
New position: Member of the JOEUC editorial advisory board

I have recently been invited to the editorial advisory board of Journal of Organizational and End User Computing, an official Information Resources Management Association publication since 1989.
What I like about the journal is that it ‘features a major emphasis on how to increase organizational and end user productivity and performance, and how to achieve organizational strategic and competitive advantage’. This is exactly my favorite sort of research-orientation, as I believe that there is much that can be done in increasing productivity of knowledge workers of today, and that this is one of the crucial keys to overtake the competitors.
If your research fits this orientation, too, please accept my cordial invitation to submit your high quality work to this journal. See mission, author guidelines, or just contact me or the editor, prof. dr. Mahmood, for more information.
AOM and AMCIS in August 2007

Two wonderful news just got in. The first one is that I got invited to the Academy of Management Doctoral Consortium, organized by the OCIS division of the AOM, at the AOM 2007 Annual Meeting (Aug 3-8, Philadephia, PA). The participation is by invitation only and is limited to 26 PhD students. A great part is that AOM is funding a part of the trip and the housing costs. The best part of course is the quality of the faculty leading the consortium, and obviously, the quality of the event itself.
The second one is that a paper, resulting from the I4I research project, also got accepted for the AMCIS-American Conference on Information Systems. AMCIS 2007 (in organization of AIS-Association for Information Systems), is THE American event in the field of IS, thus, the reason to be excited about this, is self-explanatory :))
Going places (part 1) … UK …

Next week I am off to the IFIP 8.6 conference in Manchester, UK. Been invited to present my research at the doctoral consortium which is mentored by distinguised faculty led by Prof Bob Galliers, plus, am presenting a paper entitled Attaining organisational innovation - better smart than fast, which was coauthored by me and Dr Maria Burke of 6*RAE IRIS at Salford Uni. IFIP 8.6 is a highly relevant conf for me as the WG deals with diffusion, adoption and implementation of information and communication technologies in contemporary organizational settings.
Loads of meetings already scheduled, and many more to happen ad-hoc both on personal and professional basis. No doubt a great opportunity to get feedback on the current research and brainstorm on future possibilities, not to mention, to network. Opportunities abound, as always :)
