Mini-track chairing @ 14th AMCIS 2008…

Lately I’ve been busy polishing the call for papers for the Knowledge management and knowledge management systems mini-track that I will be co-chairing at the forthcoming 14th AMCIS-Americas Conference on Information Systems.

Namely, the proposal I submitted with my three colleagues: David T Croasdell (University of Nevada, Reno), Ronald D Freeze (Arizona State University), and Samuel Otim (Clemson University), has been accepted in the KM track. For such a competitive area, this is a great achievement. Well, now the real work begins - August 2008 will be here in a blink and we’ll be in Ontario, Canada. Before that, December 1st 2007 we publish our final call for papers for our mini track, review the submissions, and create a story around the whole lot of it. Invitation stands from the day one, though - if your KM and KMS research is taking existing organizational/management/sociological/IT theories into the KM context and looks into the future, this mini-track is for you. Looking forward to receiving your submissions, and, seeing you in Ontario.

The Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) is an annual conference for Information Systems and Information Technology academics and professionals sponsored by the AIS-Association for Information Systems. AMCIS is widely considered to be one of the most prestigious conferences for IS/IT in the Western Hemisphere, and provides a platform for panel discussions and the presentation of peer-reviewed information systems research papers, over  700 of which are submitted each year.

Added January 9, 2008: Call for papers for the track has just been officialized. Download it from here.
